more mullet 26/6/09

#1 Post by colin c »

People:myself and 2 others, then myself and davy murdoch

Duration:5 hrs

Tide:up and over

Weather:scorchio

Bait:bread

Rigs:float

Results:2 mullet

Report:Headed to a mark after work today to see if anything was happening.A few fish splashing about but not showing much interest in the bread.Only seen a couple of fish taking on the surface and missed 2 bites :x
Decided a change of location was in order so off i went.Got to the second mark and had missed the best of the tide so a quick smoke and off to mark 3.As soon as i got there i could see a lot of fish milling around .A quick phone call to Davy to let him know what was happening and down i went to the water.Seen one fish taking bread from the surface but didnt show any interest in the bit on my hook  Davy showed up after that and thats when i hooked into my first fish which put up a hell of a scrap much to Davys annoyance as it was spooking the rest of the group  .Weighed in at 3 1/2lb and straight back in the water.Shifted a short distance after that as the fish seemed to be on the move.Around twenty minutes later had my second fish on which i was trying to get in the net as quickly as so not to disturb the rest of the mullet.Davy did a fantastic job :D with the net and it was a fish of about 3lb.Nothing happening after that with fish just on the move and not showing any interest at all in our bread.

Must agree there colin, time the whole Specimen Fish carry on was abolished and fish returned with minimum handling. Please explain the significance of the fine print on your posts. :?:

Very sportsman like giving Davy a ring to let him know where the fish were.

Nice one on the 2 Fish you are really notching them up.
