orlock, co. down 21/6/09

People: myself

Duration: few hours

Tide: near high

Weather: cloudy, drizzle

Bait: mackerel trace

Rigs: mackerel trace

Results: blankety blank




Report: went to orlock about hour and a half before high tide, sea was calm and looked like a great day to catch some mackerel, had the rocks to myself but no mackerel showing. stayed for a couple of hours then went home. . . so, still no mackerel showing from the shore

That place really is dead this year. Don't know whats going on.

hard luck on the blank,the mackerel are not showing in a lot of places yet

tried chucking a macky trace off millisle a couple of weeks ago, missed one which dropped off as i was lifting it up, wasnt big.

The mackeral still have yet to come inshore, the odd one caught in Bangor from the shore but most are being caught 1-2 miles off shore

Forget Orlock man. Lets get back up the road - Glenarm was great craic last week

maybe try wrasse fishing with 2-3 hook flappers or on the float might improve your luck at orlock at the moment.

well i was at orlock today and can tell ya yes, the macks are in, tho only one was of any size out of the 5 i got
