Will you be out for a try Jim? or are the clients still mostly looking for some reef fishing?

ah yes, february is a distant memory now. I've booked a charter out of carrigaholt
for 4th July and cant decide what to fish for. I suspect the blues
arrive a bit later there than cork, being a certain distance further north,
but maybe not. The tope run should be in full flow so that would be an option,
especially if it turns out breezy. Maybe it would be worth anchoring up
and gambling on a big six gill, haven't heard of any caught recently though :-)

there's only me and tommy so far so there's space. We'd prefer if you could get a harpoon
and some barrels from somewhere as well?

Nothing planed yet this week Kev things are very very quiet  this nasty ol recession is starting to bite the anglers in the pocket :( today's WX would have been a soaker for blues, a couple of more days of this and they'll be about

The reefs are on fire at the moment we had 84 congers one day last week and they dropped 20 odd more and in a neap ebb tide, which is the worst tide for conger fishing so it seems the exception to every rule was alive n well that day a few haddock showing up too this weekend :D

Hopefully things will pick up soon Jim,

That's some savage fishing alright. I normally just fish Harbour rock for them myself. Do you anchor for them on the Smiths or Lings or do you have some other marks up you sleve :?:

If I told ya I'd have to kill ya Kev :D    If it's the haddock your after I usually drift for em on a patch of mixed ground not far from the Smiths, the congers all at anchor although sometimes you get a fluky one if the drift is almost non existent, you'll get em almost anywhere but we have a few marks that produce a lot of the slimy buggers.... strong whiting are solid with 3 at a time coming up too in a few areas handy for comps

The rock is a good ol mark but strong tide make it a pain so we usually only fish it for comps or during bad WX.... Good chance to pick up a John Dory "near" there at times
