TARBERT

#1 Post by ennagail24 »

can anyone tell me is the slipway at Tarbert puplic?,where the Tarbert/Kilimer ferry docks? Or are members of the public allowed launch there?I know Doolin is public and we have as much right of use as the ferry operators and was wondering if Tarbert was similar or is there a slipway nearby on the Kerry side, I will be coming from Limerick and will be launching an 18ft Sabre Plancraft speed boat using a 4x4.
heading out the estuary for a spot of fishing
thanks.

i was looking at a boat down there during the winter and the guy that owned it said he launched from this slip.
it seems to be a case of getting your timing right dont launch when the ferry is due to arrive.
launch just as he leaves as to not cause any obstruction to him and the same when retreiving the boat
good luck.

ps. if anyone says anything to you tell them i said it was ok
