clare dragoon, puking plus pollack, 13/6/2009

#1 Post by jw »

People: jw romofa plus 5 others

Duration: 900am-5:30pm

Tide: low around three

Weather: southerly breeze

Bait: mackerel, rags

Rigs: reef rigs

Results: pollack, cuckoo wrasse, ling, whiting, pouting, poor cod and dogs

Report:

A gentle southerly breeze had been blowing all night and a slight swell started to build
It was enough to make 4 lads seasick. Somebody tried peeling raw ginger and chewing
it, but i dont recommend this as it induces projectile vomiting :-)

Well done! looks like great session... very good looking and healthy ling there... :D :D :D

Tough luck on swells... I guess being sea sick attracted more fish around the boat hehehe...

What is this gentle breeze business?? I was one of those who didn't feed the fish, but there was a bit more than a gentle breeze! Modesty prevents JW from telling you that he outfished the rest of us about 4 to 1. Eamonn, who had never been out in a boat before[b]and[b]never even held a fishing rod before, caught ling, pollock and whiting, came home delighted with himself and wants to know when we are going out again. As for me, a few macks, a few pollock and a few minutes connected with what Luke, our skipper, reckoned was a good conger - before it let go :( . A good day out with plenty of craic.

Oh, Mary's scones were lovely too.

Liam.
