Duration: 6 hours

Tide: 2pm high water fished from 10 till 4

Weather: fantastic, spain like!!!

Bait: rag

Rigs: long range clip down plus spinning

Results: lots of fish too many too count with best results good sized coalies, mackerel and pollock on spinner, wrasse and plaice on bait.


Report: im too tired to report after this expedition it had everything from lost rods to self drive boats and a bird getting tangled in our line and attacking my friend as wee freed it and cutting him quite badly!!!!! most fish caught from the shore at red bay pier and limerick point. coalies to double figures and loadsa mackerel on the boat with some nice dabs too. crazy day.

good to hear theres a fish or two about it still. many decent plaice round limerick point?

I had a quick go down from Layd church further along on the other side of the beach, looked quite weedy but didnt get snagged - I'll try again with some fresh rag instead of the frozen mackeral ive been using. Looks like a promising spot if a bit tricky to get too.
