I'm fairly sure your flounder is actually a DAB

Flounder are a bit more diamiond shaped, dab being oval.

There are also slight differences in the lateral line and the feel of the skin.

Hardluck on the crabs, its a pain in the backside when they are on the feed, makes you wonder should you bother.

For crabs increase bait size to large penels and wrap with squid with a health dose of bait elastic. Mack wrapped with squid will last longer then sand eel wrapped in squid though sand eel wrapped in squid can be deadly. Fresh mack out lasts frozen. Then regularaly change baits. I'm so used to crabs in the Estuary that I'm disappointed now if the bait doesn't come back mostly eaten. If you think about it crabs are helping create a sent trail by cutting into it.
