ballycotton pier/breakwater advance needed
Hi lads im thinking of fishing ballycotton pier/breakwater tomorrow i was just wondering what are the best baits and state of tide for fishing for plaice. thanks

Hi there,
the only bit of advice i'd give is to avoid the pier and fish from the breakwater.At least your bait may stay on the bottom and give you a chance of a fish.The lidl bag holders will be out in force drinking beer and basically making a mess as usual.Do yourself a favour and avoid like the plaque.
Regarding tactics fish with small hooks and a few beads to increase your chances[thumbnail size bait]and don't expect any plaice really scarce there these days,a few nice flounder def on the cards though.

i was there a few weeks back and lost count of the number of doggies we landed. nothing else caught there that evening. we were there from about 3 hours before high water up till high.
