any good?????

#1 Post by fishermannum1 »

has anyone ever used one of these? am thinking of getting one to try it out, i recond it would be handy for checking out new rock marks, to get some information of what type of ground you would be casting into, and finding deep gullys and so on. so if anyone has used one or seen one in action, i would be greatfull for their comments.
cheer's in advance..

i know what you mean, but its something that would be used carefully and would be used on a rod an reel loaded with 50lb braid ( just in case ) if that fails, kit off and in for a swim

used one for 5 years now and find it to be excellent for getting an idea on what depths and the ground is like when checking out a new mark.
Live out on the beautiful Beara Peninsula. Always willing to assist visiting anglers.

Have you received it yet? Sounds really interesting. Would love to try one myself.

got it the other day :P took it out to a lake that i fish for pike in just to try it out, jes!!! their are a great job, i spent over an hour searching around the lake, casting it close to reed beds and out into open water. seen a lot of pike close to the reeds, read out on the unit gave me the depth of each fish it picked up. on way home i tryed it on my local river, i was watching a few mullet feeding in close so i put the sensor out, it showed up everything 8) cant wait to get it out to a few rock marks now to get a idear of the type of groung i will be casting into.
i recond it was money well spent :P
some times being a tackle tart pays off!!!

use a wire trace if you're in fresh water, pike have been known to go for them!
