After a lot of piking ... decided to go for smoothound ... headed to spot which produce well last year ... Got the first bite after 30 min and after things went very quiet ... must have missed the pack ...

Well done Aurelian, great to get a smoothie, i got one for my species list last year but like my codling it was about 10 inches long ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, but it looked good on the list

At this time of the year (coinciding with a big crab moulting (or peelering ?) period), there is always smoothies in this area ... Last year got 7-8 in the same night and a couple much bigger than the photo ... North Dublin can fish very well but less regularly than the South (for example when I was living in Killiney) in my opinion ... I don't know if it's the nature of the seabed , currents ... or the trawlers ...
