Poulnasherry Bay, West Clare 3/06/2009

#1 Post by Ross »

People: Ross

Duration: 7.30pm - 10.30 pm

Tide: LW 9 pm

Weather: Beautiful again! NW light

Bait: Mackerel

Rigs: Pulley 4/0

Results:
1 Thornback Ray

Report:
De Brudder Mike had put some fresh mackerel in my fridge for the tea but I nicked them and went fishing! Well it was my fridge!
Lots of green weed made fishing difficult and the crabs were queuing up!
The ray ran with the bait and for a minute and I thought I had a Dicentrarchus Labrax! Whew!

I fished the morning tide, Ive never seen the bay like it. For most of the morning the water looked like a sheet of glass. Beautiful. It didnt help the fishing, the crabs were very active and I didnt see a single bite.

I did see some massive Mullet, cruising and Nymphing the surface, nothing close in though.
The Truth is often stumbled upon by men, most of whom pick themselves up and hurry along as if nothing ever happened.
