tried the white lady for 2 hours but noting biting,checked the rock pool to see if the fish i saw the last day was still in it and he was

maybe this photo might help identify him better

moved to where i got the few pollack the other day and tried some feathers noting here as well,the pollack must only like feed here in the few hours before darkness
decided to move and explore a few new marks,the first mark we saw a few mullet,2 big ones maybe 2 to 3 lbs weight and a lot of smaller ones,was not set up for mullet fishing but was very happy finding this mark i will be back soon for a try for my first mullet
moved up the shore a bit to see what the ground was like,put out some lug and sprats then tried the feathers again and got one mackerel

as we were packing up we met one of the local lobster fishing men,he told me he did not see any mackerel shoals around yet,he also told me how to get to a very good gunner mark

well pleased going home except for the blisters on my head and arms but i have some nice new marks to try later

a bit of local info is worth it's weight in gold the wee guy looks like a sand goby.

any idea al to how big the sand goby grows,will keep a eye on him over the summer to see how he is getting on

Fair play. I know sod all about these things, but I can't imagine that Goby will get much bigger. You could get the Angler Barbie and use her pink fishing rod with some bread crumbs and crank up your species list!

And, more importantly, woth your sighting you now know exactly where to use this

always wanted a big mullet and a nice gurnard from the shore ye couldn"t pm them directions by any chance for the next time i down damian

wont pm you any more directions damian after the last time you out fished me on my own ground the map is on its way shortly by pm,the mullet are not far from the first mark also saw a few Shanny around there as well so it might be good for mini species ,the gurnard mark is a different area,drawing a 2nd map for them

could be right,at the moment he is less then 1 inch long so hard to get a clear photo,i well check over the summer to see if he gets much bigger

don t think there is a hook small enough to catch this lad,less then 1 inch long,even barbie wouldn't get him
i was mad i didn't have the Chinese rig with me to try on the mullet but next time i go there i will have it,going to try for mini species as well which i never tried before,i will have to look in the brothers trout fishing box for small hooks over the weekend and rob a few

eric might be right there. if you see him again pick him up and check his pelvic fins. all gobys are able to cope with powerful wave action as they have pelvic fins fused together to form a suction pad which allows the tiny fish to stick themselves to rocks or other supports if he don't got em eric is spot on and it's a shanny . hope this helps.

i will cheak him out the next time i am there,he has a nice little pool about 5 foot up from low water with a over hanging ledge and weed cover,i think he has a pretty safe spot

didn't try my usual ray spot in awhile because of all the fresh water that was going in to the bay i will give it a try in a week or two to see if anything moving,rays are still a bit scarce yet i think
