Best bass lure

#1 Post by Anonymous »

Planning to do a bit of spinning for bass in the churchtown south(co. cork) area. Had no luck yesterday but it was a nice day with not a mackeral basher to be seen. . Tried flyfishing too but my gear wasnt really suited to it. I was just wondering what the bast plug/spoon/spinner to use would be. Colour, make and size would be appreciated. Also does anyone know if spinning for pollack is any good in this area?

Anything thats a bright shiny silver colour will do but the fact is you could be fishing there for a week and not catch one , if there are bass in the area 9 times out of 10 you will see them in the water

Well, as a complete beginner - I want you to tell me these 5 locations (joke)
I've been out about 10 times now with me beachcaster and spinning rod catching (very few) dogfish, small pollack, sand eels and tiny plaice. I've been reading about bass and this site (http://www.mikeladle.com/) - Chapter 6/7 bears out your point about seeing bass - usually in very close to the shore - so why am I fixated on casting as far a possible ? Maybe it's because I'm a complete beginner - doh !

Anyhow, feel free to post the five locations - I won't tell anyone, honest ....

Best Regards

Aido
no matter where you are, there you are !
