East coast raider junior MA#2 courtwon north

#1 Post by eric »

People:3 seniors and 2 juniors

Duration:12:30- 3:30

Tide: on the ebb

Weather: tres horrible

Bait: all sorts

Rigs: three hook flappers

Results: leisha kavanagh----------------1 eel, 1 flounder 25cm for 70pts
---------------dj reilly-------------------------1 pollock 22cm-------for 27pts

Report:had a really nice, long informative report going, when the laptop fell off the kitchen table last sunday. so 150 quid and a new hardrive later, im back in action!
the comp was originally planned to fish courtown north beach but due to bad weather it had to changed to arklow pier. only two juniors turnt up due to the weather. fishing proved tough with only 4 fish landed, probably due to the amount of fresh water running through the river, i managed an eel in close, on a trace set up on one of the kids rods. leisha took a flounder near the death and added to her eel used this to wrap up the comp. dj saved the blank on his last cast with a rather lost looking pollock?? hopefully the next comp will fair better on the weather front. a big thank you once again to mick and gerry of viking tackle bray for sponcership.

nice to see the kids getting a few fish for braving the weather :D real wee anglers there. the conditions looked awful but they are still smiling away :D . i know a few seniors who would'nt have even bothered to go out in those conditions. so credit where credit's due, all die hard anglers in the making      keep it up kids.
