Heading this way myself for a week (13th to 20th) and looking for some reports and maybe a mark or two. Will be mainly looking for Bass but am thinking about bringing some gear for a bit of beach fishing. Can lug be dug anywhere in this part of the world?

Go over the bridge out the back of Caherciveen, turn left towards the ruins of Carbery Castle, park where the road runs out. There's a huge expanse of muddy sand full of lug - bigger ones near the low water mark, plus a few white rag. Try Cooscrome harbour - back the way you came, but instead of turning right to the bridge, turn left and keep going till you come to the harbour. Had a 7lb conger, dogs, pollack big rockling there a few weeks back, over high water mid-afternoon. I,m told it's also good for flaties.
