beware the invasion of the spider crabs , fished south side of mweenish island on evening of 15th and was plagued by them. they usualy come into shalow waters in april to spawn, but are later this year due to lower water temps. would suggest avoiding shallow marks for the next week or 2
whoooooaaaahhhh!!!!!!! that must be super industrial strength bait elastic to hold that big chap on the hook would love to see the wrasse that could take him on

thanks for the advice joyster,it explains a lot,i only moved to clifden the end of last may and started fishing the bay then i never saw a spider crab until last week must be a good sign when they are in,maybe after this the fishing will start to pick up
