Bait:lug worm,squid,sand eel,razor fish,crab

Rigs:3 hook flapper,pulley

Results:spiny spider crab




Report:must be mating time for the crabs the bay was full of them
as soon as the bait hit the bottom they were at it

the other side of the bay was definitely fishing better, met fishing buddy's of d.kane62 and they showed me a photo of a fish he caught,cracker of a fish,well done damian

beware the invasion of the spider crabs , fished south side of mweenish island on evening of 15th and was plagued by them. they usualy come into shalow waters in april to spawn, but are later this year due to lower water temps. would suggest avoiding shallow marks for the next week or 2

thanks for the advice joyster,it explains a lot,i only moved to clifden the end of last may and started fishing the bay then
i never saw a spider crab until last week
must be a good sign when they are in,maybe after this the fishing will start to pick up
