Shimano Ultegra XT 12000

#1 Post by choco »

I have an snag on my Shimano Ultegra XT 12000

Location of problem: Where the bail arm conects into the part where the roller bearing is for the line .
The Problem: it works free causing it to pop out.

Reel purchased years ago but not in use due to above snag.

has anyone used the shimano service center in wales / if so are they good?

Any advise ?

I've just got my Super Baitrunner 5000 XTEA back from the Shimano service centre and I'm very happy with the service. The reel was in a bad way when I sent it off and the man that I spoke to said he had never seen a reel as worn as mine. The cost of the servicing, replacing 9 parts and postage was very reasonable.I sent the reel by registered post which cost 11 euro and I had the reel back again 9 days later.
Send them an e-mail and explain what's wrong with your reel they can then send you the required parts.

I think the hole for the screw that holds on the roller housing could be worn and this lets the screw work its way out, you could buy some thread lock and try it on the screw leave it for a couple of days to dry, if this does not work maybe you could get a larger diameter screw and make a new thread with it. failing that its a new bail arm mechanism. ps where abouts in dublin are you.
Kstaff has always been the new black in my eyes anyway!!!!!!!
