Rigs: 1 Up 1 Down, 3 Hook Flapper and 3/0 Pennel Pully
Results: 1 Bass 43cm and 12 Doggies
Report: With the Bass ban fast approaching I high tailed it over from Galliamh to try and add a Bass to my species list. After picking up a few bits and pieces in Courtown Angling Centre I made my way to the mark. Set up two rods fishing different distances and was getting doggies straight from the off on the flapper in close i had a whole crab at distance on the other rod in the hope of some early smoothie action but apart form one knock nothing was interested in the crab. So a quick change of tack and loaded up the pennel rig with 3 juicy lug and sent it to the back of the sand bank it wasn't in the water that long when bang nice hard hit followed by slack line reeled in the slack fish on was delighted to see the flash of silver coming throught the surf and my first Bass of 2009 was landed So mission acomplished after the first session of the weekend ... roll on tomorrow!!
