Cushendun Beach

People: 9 Anglers

Duration: 5 hrs (7pm till Midnight)

Tide: 01.00 (high tide)

Weather: Clear and dry

Bait: Rag/Lug/Squid/Mack +Sandeel

Rigs: I used a wishbone rig for flats and 3 hook flapper for Dogfish

Results: Mostly Plaice + Flounder But also Doggies (3), Pollock (2) and a gernard

Does this beach produce in summer i new to this but thought summer is for spinning. I fish this in winter and do ok. are the bait and method the same any tips welcome for fishing beach marks in summer

Yes, spinning at cushendun during summer will produce sea trout and coalies and occasional mackerel etc but usual clean ground bottom fishing tactics take most fish, sometimes daylight can be more productive for flats etc but the majority of fishing is during darkness. have even seen guys trying flyfishing here due to the depth of water.

yeah, must be trying for sea trout i guess?maybe get small coalies or pollock too? :?
