sunny south east

People:me

Duration:21:00 - 2300

Tide:ebbing

Weather:calm. clumps of sand floating around strangely!!. looked like snow.

Bait:lug

Rigs:3 hook flappers. pennel.

Results:dogs dogs dogs dogs.......oh yeah and 2 tiny whiting a dab and a flounder. dropped a bass near the end. disgusted with that.

Fished a beach I visited with the family late last summer. looked like it would throw up a few fish and duly obliged. lovely little spot all to myself (and the rats. bloody hell the amount of them!!) Was a bit late getting down but mick in courtown got me sorted with some lug and also got a century rod issue sorted without charging a cent tilll it was sorted. How long have we been waiting for a shop like that. And so to the fishing: Tried flappers really close in and pennel a bit further out around the 50 yd mark. Anyway first cast and pretty much every one after that took a doggie and/or something else. Low point of the night was my supercast bass rod snapping for no good reason. Lobbing a bunch of lug and a 3oz lead 20yds wasn't exactly forcing things so not too happy about it. Down to the usual rod after that hadnon stop bites all night and towards the end had a typical bass bounce on the tip. got it in as far as the little breaking waves and hook came free. using size 1 kamasans so not entirely suprised. just a bit disappointed. Enough was enough at that stage so home for a feed. A decent enough session I guess fishwise. Lookin forward to getting out again soon.
Will stick up a a pic of the rod tomorrow

Nice session Davy, hard luck on the bass . Shame about the diawa bass rod snapping did you have it long? Its worth bringing it back to where you bought it, the diawa supercast is a good rod and should not do that loobing out with 3 oz of lead 20 yards.dbrock also mentioned in a previous post about Rods being covered by house insurance if you have it, its well worth looking into.

Hard luck on the dropped bass. Still a nice session on a cracker of day.
