whose rod

#21 Post by fenitbob »

It is quiet simple really whom ever owns the rod
example: Jim and Mark go fishing. Jim is a beginner with his own rod so Mark baits and casts Jim's rod.
so jim lays back on a rock for a snooze 1 hour later
Jims rod bends in two.
Mark who is awake grabs jims rod and strikes the fish and begins to reel in jim then takes over and lands an 8lb white trout. Jim's white trout.

even if mark had reeled the trout himself it would still be Jim's Trout.

In a competition, no person should touch anothers persons rod, regardless of whats happening. The angler should call the other angler and allow him to play the fish. The angler who saw the rod can help by netting the fish, but that is all. That fish would not count in any competition

O.K.Lads, here's the deal. The way things are standing at the moment it seems that I'm the winner with 51% of the votes; for that I thank you all for seeing sense. The trouble is that we weren't playing no queensbury rules, we were just playing our own rules, but I have learnt from this and have decided to call a rematch ('Cos it's only fair). Trev if your on this thread be prepared for double or quits, if I lose it's all even, if I win, dig deep boy! But we best watch where we sit in future!

Why dont ye just share the credit of catching the fish I landed a Bass on my x girlfriends rod one night and took the credit told her I caught it so Tina if your watching this thread that bass in Carrigaholt was caught on your reliable 6500 mag elite combined with your penn inxs and traces which you made yourself so you can add a bass to your tally of species.....................

I can't beleive the result of this poll. When we arrived at the beach I walked up and down the shoreline 5 or 6 times checking the features, watching the runs of tide etc. I chose the spot where I cast very carefuly as I knew there was a big bass there - I guess with your 5 hook flapper and the seetcorn you were never going to get anything other than a vegetarian shore crab! Either that or yr mate was going to do the homework for you. IT WAS MY FISH

We have an agreement me and my friends...!!

If your not there to take care of your rig and someone else lands a fish on your gear that you left in the sea, you cant claim the fish..

What would you rather have, a mate that lands the fish OR a mate that says F-it, its not my gear, i hope the fish pulls the rod into the sea :D

So, if you gonna take a piss or just hide from rain and wind, you have to choices, take the bait out from the sea, or live with the fact that a mate might land "HIS" fish with your gear.

Well trev, you finally replied. Look mate admit you've lost the poll, the proof is in the pudding. Anyway, your post amused me somewhat. Walked up and down the beach 5 times my arse! If you walked up and down the beach once you'd be lost and you know it. I have to admit that you won the re-match though with the Bull Huss but lads, I did catch a starfish (not a chocolate one) and whilst we're on the subject Trev, I would just like to add that if you think that I was using a 5-hook flapper it just goes to show that your mind wasn't correct after returning from your "cig" The case is closed.
