Gotta love it. Folks go to all the trouble of digging bait for catching fish, inadvertently creating fantastic marks that attract foraging Bass, and someone else nips in after the heavy work is done and catches fish......

Dug rag up there a good bit last summer, and have to say I never saw any bass, but I'll certainly keep a better lookout this summer

small rod in the boot when you go digging fish the channel while your digging you should have enough bait dug by the time it starts filling the holes you have time to play with the fish then have it sussed twinkle

Opened up an east coast bass caught recently and belly was full of small *hard backed* crabs and a couple of small fish - they look like rockling, but could be whiting (partially digested). draw your own conclusions when they're coming in to feed in the run up to the closed season.
