New to Fishing

#1 Post by shanks »

Alright lads, how're we all doing this evening?

Just got my first rod on Saturday, a 10' feather rod, and looking for any helpful tips ye might have?
Spent 2 days out on the East pier in Dun Laoghaire with no luck so far, but was highly enjoyable nonetheless!

Absolute beginner so wondering what species are about this time of year? Also advice on what tackle i should be trying would be great...

Living out near Fairview, is there any good marks around these parts? Or even any relatively secluded spots to practice my casting?

Cheers for any help!

Hi, I currently live in East Wall and can give you a hand if you want. There are a few marks that are localish. They don't throw up as many fish as if you went down into Wicklow but they'll do to start on the basics. PM me if you fancy heading out at any stage.
