parts for yamaha 40fe

hi lads im going to have a go at getting a yamaha 40fe going again its 1983 i think. is there an outboard breakers yard does anyone know? what happens to old outboard engines .there must be one somewhere. there is parts missing off my one and i cant see any on the net because of the age. any info would be a big help thanks twinkle

work out a list of what parts you need, and ebay's your oyster!

i have tried e bay and a load of other sites the problem is the age of the engine 81/83 most of the sites only show fom 84 on i still think there must be a graveyard for outboards somewhere. twinkle

Had to smile when I saw the age of your engine. I had a 1974 Mercury thats still going strong in its new home in Donegal. They were made a lot simpler then alright. Good luck with the search.

Try O'Malley Marine in Sixmilebridge. Was in there some time back and he had lots of bits and pieces.
