marinizing mercedes 2.5 diesel engine

does any one have any idea how much it would cost to convert and install a merc engine on to a boat? as bought a boat in england got caught badly with a40hp yamaha o/b thanks twinkle

hi twinkle can u post a few pics of both engines are you trying to put a inboard instead of a outboard

its a 2.5 diesel 6 cylinder car engine . the yamaha outboard is a 40fe when we looked at it in england it was about 4.30 getting dark told us it was just serviced saw new plugs .new starter,fired up straight away so i thought happydays when we looked at it yesterday they started it on 1 plug and 1 carb the others been disconnected so i rekon proberly gone on 1 cylinder im gutted its my first boat and was hoping to launch it next week as soon as i have pics will post thanks twinkle
