Crew: Noel and Mathew Fogerty
Mileage: 39nm.
Tide: High water 09.10
Weather: Foggy to start but cleared to be a pleasant enough day in light s/w winds
Bait: king rag, blacks, mackerel, mussel, crab and razor
Rigs full selection of battle rigs
Results: Pollack, ling, whiting, ballan and cuckoo wrasse poor cod and octopus
Report:
Launched and ready to go by 10.15 it was full steam ahead to the open sea. A few stops on the way to the ling rocks produced some whiting poor cod and small ling. Having the wind against tide did not help with the drift down to a stand still at times. Nice if you’re on fish.
Drifts over the peaks on the lings turned up the usual wrasse and pollack and small ling but nothing spectacular to show for. The next move was to head west to a mark that has not let me down the last few times it.
About a mile short of the mark we pass a green fishing well at least he wasn’t on the mark. He wasn’t but his net was

The first drift had pollack up to 6lb

No complains about that, net or not, we were staying and going further up the net on each drift.
Best catch of the day came to Mathew

Finished off the drift and headed for home. If you’re going to end the day on a good note you’ll find it hard to beat that one.
OOOOPPPPS for forgot to mention

Not a bad day out, far better than the last time Noel came down.
