Killard Point 05/04/2009

#1 Post by smicker »

People:Me and 5 clubmates

Date :05/04/09

Venue:Killard point

Duration: 16.00 – 19.00

Tide:high water approx 20.00

Weather:mixed, blowy from SE, but no rain

Bait:Rag, Frozen Sandeel, Jelly worms

Rigs:Float and spinning

Results:Blankety Blank

Report: Fished as part of a club competion in the BallyHornan area. Arrived at killard point about 15.00 had a look arround and found a spot on the rocks to fish from. At the time the wind was brisk and cooling after the hike, but not to bad though there was a bit of a swell.
Tried floated rag, floated sandeel, spinning with sandeel and jelly worms even tried freelining the sandeel with a couple of floating beeds – not even a nible. By 7 o’clock the wind had been getting up and the swell getting worse so called it a day before things started getting hairy.
On the plus side found my spare headlight in the spinning bag. Was going to take some pickies at the end of the spray coming over the rocks but if the wife seen them she would never let me out again.

unlucky smicker, i fished the same spot with the same results last week   in the end i reckoned i would have stood a better chance of getting a fish outta the big rock pool at the end of the point than the sea in front of me

The way the waves and the tide were going i considered it myself, by about 7.00 that rock pool was part of the sea and full of foam.
