out and about

#1 Post by boycie89 »

Peoplemise , bigsod , tonyfella and drummer

Duration:1-11pm

Tide:ebb and rise

Weather:grand

Bait:lots

Rigs:flappers with size 8's/4's , single hook mini species rigs

Results:7 species in total , but a good few fish all the same

Report:went out with the boys with the mind to fish for some mini's but fished a wexford surf beach for most of the day !! i would have liked to be on the mini mark a couple of hours before dark but only got one cast before the sun was gone. after having some flounder and turbot on the beach i was hoping to get some early tompots and maybe a suprise at the mini mark .
first cast resulted in a rock goby result ! :D from there on it was whiting , pouting , dabs and 5 beard rockling.
i had a rod out for something bigger but was disgusted when my fish came off a i tried to lift it from the water but thats for another day  all in all a good days fishing although poor oul tony had a mare of a day as he has christened his new rod with a few lovely scratches but ill let him tell you all about that !

first fish is brill, second turbot.note the different shape, turbot are very round where brill are more teardrop in shape, turn them on their back and this can be more easily seen looking at their white bellies.
