charter skipper

Hi Lads

which would you prefer from a charter skipper.if you had a booking and the skipper phoned you and said the fishings s**t would you like to move your booking back a month. or would you like the skipper to take you and give you a poor days fishing . the way i am looking at it is if you have a good day you might come back if you have a crap day i might never see you again.

any feed back would be great

I would like if skipper was honest with me. If I had my mind set on it, would probably go anyway.

i would prob go anyway but if i was told it was crap i wouldn't expect much

after the few trips i had with you i know you are a honest skipper and i think most people would be happy if the skipper told them the truth about how the fishing was going
i think they would still go out even if the fishing was bad

part of the fun for me going on your boat is getting out on the sea the other part is catching fish which i have done any time i went out

you would probably get more repeat customers by being honest skipper then the skippers who bring lads out and then sit down reading the paper

Angus the way it is if you took a boat load of crap fishermen to an area packed with fish and they still couldn't catch who will they blame YOU OF COURSE!!
Experienced fishermen will appreciate you being honest and realise that they are making the call and if they can scratch out anything they will be happy enough, especially if you work hard to get them fish.

totally agree with yappo,also just cos the fishing was crap one day doesn`t mean it`ll be crap the next.its just the luck of the draw.
in my opinion the most important thing for the skipper to be honest about is the weather.there`s nothing worse than being told the night before that the weather is fine,only for you to head out the next morning and get the dung beat out of you.i`ve fished with a few skippers who will take you out in any conditions just to make a few quid.
a good skipper will tell you what is worth fishing for and what isn`t when the fishings been bad.
most anglers will go out anyway cos they`ll be hoping that day the fish will be feeding,or that they are better anglers than the others that have been out :wink:

i totally agree, you just never know what you may catch, even though it mightnt be very good.

Having been out with you Angus i know your a hard working and knoledgable skipper. When one spot wasnt producing we moved to the next and found the fish that way.I think people appreciate that especialy if told before hand the fishing may be slow.Looking forward to getting out with you again this year

Honesty is very important. We travelled to Cork for a weekend wreck fishing last year. First day there were 2 boats in awful conditions 2 hours from port. As I have my own boat I knew there was no chance of catching fish. There were 3 fish caught for 16 anglers. Nobody lost any gear in the wreck??? In fact it seemed we were over sand.

The second day it was too bad to go out to the wrecks but he did not tell us until we left port and then charged us for a days wreck fishing. Need I say more!!! He will never see us again.

The main wreck from Dunmmore seems to be the Milwaukee! A certain skipper from Dunmore hammers it day in day out. We will never fish with him either!!!

I booked a trip with you last year and rang to confirm it the day before our trip. You said that conditions wrere not suitable. We will definitely book another trip with you sometime in the future.
