Rumour of coddling

#1 Post by drseafish »

I herd on the grapevine that Ballywilling, Ballycrenane in east Cork is fishing its socks off at present. Lots of codling around 2lb with painted ray also showing. Has anyone tried?

Fished Ballbriggan strand on thursday and friday night got 30 odd codling about 1lb-2lb...fished at night, low water and at distance. Used lug and crab as bait on a 4/0 pulley

For some reason the coddling fishing is exceptional of some of the south coast beaches at present. All those tiny buggers have started to grow, lets hope they come back next year and manage to avoid those nets.
