People: myself

Duration: 6-8pm

Tide: high 7.40pm

Weather: clear light breeze

Bait: rag, lug mac

Rigs: 3 hook flappers

Results: 1 sea trout

Report: had some rag left from saturday and thought i would try it out on a local venue

nothing doing for first hour - bites were taken at the lug/mac rig - the rags ignored to my surprise

tide hit HW and i thought i had more of a pluck on the mack - came in gone

threw it out again same spot - got a slack line - trout took it on and came in towards the shore

but 50 metres down to the left - gave a pull and as these lads do he went mental - few runs - splashes and jumps and out he came 8)

was hiding in the dusk with no headlight at the ready - knocked over me box looking for it - lost a load of bits and bobs - but who cares

tried to take a pic but he was jumping about too much - got himself righted in the dead weed on the shore!!!

heart was pounding - he was easily 60cm+ if not more my 30cm ruler not much use - no decent pics - was so deep and very pale

had him on a size 2 hook!

waded back in and eased him back - some sight as he kicked off

i nearly needed 5 mins rest on the shore to compose myself before i started to look for all me gear

stuff lost but another amazing surprise at this game - all those blanks worth it

ive said it before and ill say it again easily the best fish pound for pound

happy days
