Tried plugging around Sutton Dingy club, but the sea was a brown weed soup after the winds at the weekend.
Moved onto Portmarnock low rocks for a couple of hours, but nothing doing. Still, it was a pleasant and enjoyable evening.
Have the feeling it's still a little early for bass in these parts. Late July and August should see catches improve.

Hi Mark,
I was thinking the same myself. I'm now living just outside Balbriggan and I have been trying a good few marks with no luck. It seems it is very shallow right out and there is very little weed on all of those rocky patches . I'm gonna keep on trying. Have you heard of any reports of bass up this way? I have asked around and have heard nothing...
Cheers

Jaysus,
Talk about great minds thinking alike. 8) 8) I was just out in Balbriggan on Tuesday evening looking at the place at low water. There are loads of really nice looking marks. I practically spent every summer there as a kid and remember catching tons of crabs with my hand line. About 10 years ago a friend caught a Bass by hand  off Rush beach. The fish had beached itself chasing small baitfish (I Think). There has to be Bass of the rocks around Balbriggan. It's just a matter of time.

Just concerning the sutton area , I was digging bait at the channel out by fintans school about two weeks ago and was speaking to a tunisian guy fishing with nets laid across the channel , after just 10 minutes he had picked up a mullet of around 6 1/2 lb and a flounder of around 1 1/2 lb a real beauty. It made me realise the standard of fish here and I would recomend it.
