seats available specimen whitefish trip Tues 24th Feb

#1 Post by jw »

I hope no one thinks this is greedy, but boat fishermen spend enough time at this
latitude looking at the gales of wind and rain so it would be a sin to waste a high
pressure system like this. I've provisionally booked Colin Barnes' boat Holly Jo for next tuesday.
All the details are already posted here

viewtopic.php?f=8&t=19871&start=0&st=0&sk=t&sd=a

and report here

viewtopic.php?f=5&t=20010

The theory is that a long settled spell like this clears the water and the big specimen whitefish
start to feed on the deep water wrecks. The cost for the day is 550, so if we can get
6 or 7 lads it should bring it under 100 for the day. Obviously the booking is weather
dependent as we cant be fully sure of the forecast a week ahead.

Please post here is you can make it and we will confirm the booking

we now have eight for this

jw, boycie, Pat, rederic, phil, Austrian, rodger, brian duggan

the meeting time is 0730am on Reen pier to allow time to load gear and get changed, the boat
is leaving at 08:00am sharp. Its probably best to bring frozen bait, there were no mackerel
about the last day. The forecast looks perfect.
