New to fishing and I just got a present of a new boat rod (above mentioned).
With it I got a reel, it's a Mitchell Riptide 4/0. '2: Bearings'.
Anyone ever used one of these? Are they any use? Bear in mind I'm a total novice and am happy to now have a beach caster for the shore and a boat rod for the odd time I'll head out on a boat. I'm assuming the boat rod is suitable for say nearby pier fishing also??
What does the '4/0' & '2: bearings' mean on the reel?
