It had a ridge between the eyes and one or two elongated fin rays past this ridge.

It is either a Thors scaldfish or dogfish.

Isn't that Dragon net photo the same as a Flathead as in Australia??

I'm pretty sure they are a different species of fish, The flathead in Australia grows an awful lot bigger than a dragonet :)
