multi tip beech casters

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

i was looking at a grauvel rod with twin tips a while back. it was about 120euro but was told that the grauvels in that price range werent great and that i could get a far better rod for the same money. dont know which model it was tho.
i have a cheap 12 foot rod with a very light tip that i dont use anymore on beaches cos it bounces on the waves like a shark has taken the bait. its also pretty useless if theres a bit of weed about. its a grand rod tho from rocks or piers where theres no surf. i had 6 mack on it with feathers last year and it was mighty craic.

a gimmick, and unless you're paying big money they're unbalanced and a compromise. instead, buy one decent rod. and then another.

Grauvell Tektron with standard and Match tip. Class.... I know some lads have issues with the Tektrons, I'm happy to say I havent and the Tektron with a match tip is just a lovely piece of kit.

Couldn't disagree more. I have a Grauvell 4500 MH (€250) & Grauvell DH 4500 (Silly Money) both with standard and match tips, and they are both brilliant rods, so i effectively have 3 combos there, 2 match rods, match & stdrd, strd & strd, depending on what I'm doing.

Match tips are great for the inclose scratching stuff & the standard tips won't exactly bully conger but I've had double thornbacks, big painted ray, and some decent cod & bass on the MH (cheaper of the two), and it handled them fine. They're great for putting a few small baits well out or 1 large one.

agree with albatros here, have a similar style match rod for scratching, both with two tips, either changes the rod completely! the soft one for scratching and the std forknocking bug baits out there!
