Wexford mark 09/02/09

People: Me & Hairdresser (HD :lol: )

Duration: 4pm - 8pm

Tide: 2hrs either side of Full

Weather: Light rain at first, then dry. Windy F4/5 NE. Cold :?

Bait:Skanky Lug, Squid, Mack & razor

Rigs: Flappers

Results: 13 Schoolie Bass, 2 Rockling, 1 Flounder




Report:
HD had decided to head out early, so I finished up work early too and joined him (hadn't fished daylight in 4 months :shock: ).
Sea was calm enough, so we fished a mark that always produces 'something'!
We had skanky lug which was dug nearly 2 weeks ago- how HD managed to keep it alive is a mystery to me...!
10 mins in and HD landed his first Schoolie bar of silver. Followed 20mins later by a DOUBLE :shock: :shock: . There was no doubt he had picked a more 'promising' mark than me 20yrds up the beach. He hammered the Bass non-stop for about 3 hours, whereas I was looking like a complete blank :cry: .
Eventually I managed to take a schoolie on Lug tipped off with mack - my only fish of the night, better than a blank I guess.
All the rest were landed by HD, finishing up with a decent size rockling. No pics, I'm afraid... nothing worth taking picks of anyways. All fishies were released without harm.
One thing I have to say is, the amount of schoolies around makes promising fishing for future years!. :D

nice session and as u say the amount of schoolies been caught is very promising :lol:
if only we could get rid of the netters :evil: :twisted:

We actually found a huge big net on the beach - we threw it on the fire to keep us warm!! :lol:
