Re: HELP !!!!!
hey its no worries, its quite entertaining, and to think you men are usually the one complaining about how women natter
checked out the youghal reports, i think our big issue is where to actually go
the last time we were down we ended up at slob strand after driving around for about an hour and getting lost. Is there any where close to dig bait

Re: HELP !!!!!
a big thank you to my most usefull gf and a big thank you for all advice received. i think are minds are set on youghal-either ferry point or the harbour.i have a couple of marks already to toy with or either fish at the pole at ferry point but am interested in fishing the harbour.should i go to the end of the pier at the harbour or fish past it nesrer the open water on the rocks or beach? was gonna try pully pennel rig baited up to the max cast out at distance and let gf fish closer in with two hook flapper or maybe just let gf fish in a puddle.cant let gf catch more than the pro ha
.baits gona be lug, black lug, peeler and sandeel whipped on with large weights.hope to catch cod and flounder.any tips would be truely helpful thanks and any local knowledge.cheers grateful bf jonny.

Re: HELP !!!!!
couple of easy marks....
-coaldocks (aka Greens Quay) - fish either end of pier depending on tide and if theres space - this is a working port so may be a boat in - there is one in this weekend and pier is full of timber so space is limited - as said crab for the cod - mack strips for whiting - 20-30yds lob will have u in the fish - cast further to get into main channel but not much out there
Greenpark = slightly further up the road and easier to get into deeper water - same baits etc here
Cross the harbour for...
Ferrypoint - u have this covered already
Monatrea - fish to left of house - small clearing in the rough ground will see some fish including bass - best one hr b4 and after high tide
Further round coat are
Caliso Bay - snaggy bar one spot - can be hit n miss here
Whiting Bay - much the same type of fare as Caliso but not as snaggy
Goat Island - fish in daylight only if u dont know the area!!! - major doggie bashing to be had here
Ardmore Harbour - fish the pier for variety of fish incl whiting/cod/dogs and odd ray
Ballyquin - one of the best marks out there - crab is a waste of time - fresh lug all the way will see flounder/bass/whiting/rockling/coalies - big casts may get ray on a fish bait
Hope some of this is of use
john.
