Headlamp Suggestions??

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Headlamp Suggestions??

#1 Post by tommo »

Hi All,

Finally getting back into fishing after a few years where i drifted from it. Ive been busy the past few weeks pulling out and cleaning up all the gear! :) !

Its great to have a forum like this to keep on top of whats going on around the place. Hope to contribute my fair share of reports etc over the coming period!!

One thing I defo need to invest in is a good strong headlamp. Any recommendations? Thanks

welcome tommo.

i don't think you would go far wrong with a SILVA L 1 lamp.

or for a cheap reliable headlamp you could get an energizer LED LAMP from Woodie's around 20ish euro there are a couple to choose from.

hope this helps.

As John mentioned, look at the Silva L1. Having been around the track myself with a few headlamps that just will not stand the test of time on a beach, the L1 is the only way to go. They are expensive though, and will set you back about €100 ish.

don't confuse the new LX with the old reliable L1 not the same lamp with the L1 you get 2 options to power the lamp 4 batteries on the head band or 4 larger batteries in a pocket pouch will give you a couple of hundred hours of light

the lx is a rechargeable lamp that only uses its 1 power source  not worth a feck  go for the L1.

I got a Silva L1 a few months ago and I think it's a great buy. I got a great price too.

I really would not spend a fortune on these kinda things at the outset. If you're just getting back into fishing you'd be as well off checking out the Argos catalogue and spending the balance on the sharp end.

I use Silva L4 constantly with no bother and carry a backup Energizer I got from Argos.
