lure fishing for pollack in north down.

just if anyone knows of any mark that lure fishin works for pollack in north down. i know of a mark at the mouth of strangford lough, perfect ground for pollack but i'd think the macks would be a nusence with lures.

Get urself a el cheapo fly rod and search the coast from one end to the other... travel light and u can walk for miles and search everywher till u find the hot spots as they will change as does the season....best of luck

maybe try a larger lure, 12/15cm to put the mack off?
dont know the area, but it works down here for bass.....

have to agree with dunner... there are pollack on mackerel point at the entrance to strangford but you need to use a big lure and get it down the water column fast. The mackerel tend to swim mid water up (except on very bright days which may drive them down when they are not chasing sprats) whereas pollack are ambush predators and "trap" their prey against the light above them. They always attack from below and you need to get your lure down quickly...
