Re: Match fishing lessons
The best way to become a good match angler is by going fishing with anglers with good match experience as any match angler who will charge you for a days fishing has serious ego issues and not well in the head, I suggest any good angler in your local area reading your post should offer to ask you to join them for a fishing session and explain how its done etc
This is only a suggestion but anyone who charges you for some match fishing lessons would be a selfish individual........................
Best of luck

Re: Match fishing lessons
wexjohn,
Best way to start is to join a local club, take part in a few club meets/matches, make a few friends and do some pleasure angling with said new friends, that way you'll get your help/advice for free, the matches are pretty hectic, so doing some pleasure angling with the lads who compete in matches will allow you to learn at a better pace.
Having attended my 1st comp on Saturday, I can honestly say its angling, but not as we know it.
I didnt know fishing involved sprinting

Plenty of lads on here from wexford, throw up a post in the "meets, buddys, seats" forum here viewforum.php?f=8 and get out with a few forum members.
Hope this helps

Re: Match fishing lessons
i agree with Shamoo the best way to learn is to join a club and start fishing some matches. during the match just have a look at the anglers next to you and see what they are doing. im almost sure that last year there was a post up here on this site with a guide to match fishing. most people on the site will help you with any questions you have.

petekd had a good beginers guide to competitions, but the link on the homepage of SAI doesn't appear to be working anymore: http://www.angling-ireland.org/wiki/ind ... on_fishing would make a good sticky if still available.
