Dogfish / Bullhuss

Does anyone remember the post that distinguishes bullhuss from dogfish. I reckon its a dogfish but not 100%

You can tell by the shape of the nose....Huss has two nasal palps and a Dog dont.

huss have more spots on them i think and can grow bigger.

as rockhopper said the definitive difference is the two nasal palps on the huss- they hang separate from the mouth

the dogfish has one continuous flap that connects up with the mouth

And are alot more angry than dogfish lol. We were up in glenarm two weeks ago and I pulled in the biggest dogfish I have ever caught. I kinda new it was a doggie but was hoping it was a huss. I dont think there is many up these parts

if you geta big huss on the end of the line, you'll be in doubt it's not a dogfish...:)

seen a huss a couple of years ago in strangford lough in a creel, was about 6-8lbs thats how i knew it wasnt a doggie :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

I really need to keep an eye on the dogs just to make sure they are LSD!
