Advice on a fixed spool reel

i bought a second surfmaster 70 last year, and its stowed away unused until the other bites de dust....could be 20 years time???
seriously, bought the first in 03, and only trouble was the thread in the drag knob.
(prob. my fault for storing it under pressure) got the part no prob. from u.k.
