Portsalon thurs 29th jan 09

#1 Post by Beachfisher »

Myself and Derek

10-30am to 4 pm Lw @ approx 3-15

3 Hook flapper rig , and pully rigs

Lug , rag , mack and squid baits.

Weather. Gale force wind blowing along the beach

Catch. Me 7 flounder all but one counters and 3 turbot all counters , Derek 1 turbot counter and 4 flounders

Report.

Derek and i set of to fish one of the many Atlantic front beach,s but found it to be unfishable because of high seas and floating kelp beds. So we then decided to go to Portsalon were the conditions would be better. We fished in front of the Knockalla toilets car park as the rocks provide a little bit of shelter from the dry sand being blasted along the beach. We did catch fish mostly counters in the 24 to 29cms size. Considering the adverse weather conditions we had a good days fishing.
