millisle- 25/01/08 day fishing

people- me and a mate (john)

tides- ebb

duration- 12.45pm- 5.30pm

rigs- flapper and 1 up 1 down

bait- rag, mack, sand eel and squid

weather- bright, breezy, wind increased later and rain moved in

results- me- 2 rockling (2 species- shore and 3 bearded rockling and 2 crabs, john- 1 bird and 4 crabs

started on the peir, 3rd cast i got a shore rockling, got loads of crabs here too. i was surprized to get a fish so early on, john got a couple of crabs here.

about 3 oclock we headed on to the beech, missed a load of bites, john got his bird which flew away "quite happily" :lol: :lol: i got a another little 3 bearded rockling further along the beech around a wee patch of rocks, still better than a blank.

Fair play Dan . I once had a rockling swallow a 5/0 hook whole with crab on in they are greedy feckers .
If I'm not gonna catch a fish , I may aswell not catch a BIG fish !

agreed. mine were on 1/0 and 2/0s had them swallowed.

3rd ever winter day caught fish. wasnt expecting much but still a breathe of relief when i got the first.
pity bout john who only caught a load of shore crabs and some type of bird. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
hopefully get back down this week again some evening.

havnt had that many rockling around millisle so it wasnt bad to get a couple in a session. i think i had 2 or 3 before this session.
