Online tackle shops

At the suggestion of various members and given the magazines will run a mile from criticising a piece of kit, here is your chance to tell us what you really think about a rod, reel, line, lure... keep it legal please!

Online tackle shops

#1 Post by oneillphil »

Ok I'm not sure exactly what section this should be in so I thought this was the
best spot.
I recently placed an order with an online tackle shop MacTackle and they didn't fill the order leaving €54 outstanding and they promised to refund me straight away but I received nothing, that was in Jan '07. Now one year later, several emails and after reporting them to the National Consumer Agency I have finally got my money back with an apology and small gesture
I realize it wasn't a huge amount but it was the principal.
So I just wanted to post an account of what happened as a heads up to others.

Have you got your dates mixed up....one year after Jan'07 would be Jan'08, have you waited one year or 2....either way was a liberty...can you mention what the gesture was ?

To my own amazement it was Jan '07 so yeah its 2 years !!
I must be living in a time warp.
Gesture was €16 so i got my €54 + €16 = €70 back
I notice that several others on this site have also had problems with McTackle
so maybe that say all that needs to be said.

Wanted to get a Biceps from Gerrys, one of the guys from the shop called me and told me that they where out of stock but told me they could get a triceps directly from Imax, great online experience, another one Harris Sport mail was able to find a good selection of lures and plugs for those illusive bass.

If you don't get goods after 28 days of your credit card being debited and who you've contacted a number of times without satisfaction then go to your credit card company. It's alot easier and credit card companies will stop dealing with people who don't deliver the goods

I have been using Veals, and found them great, quick delivery and the prices seem reasonable!
