People:me and rainey

Duration:4pm-7.45pm

Tide:rising

Weather:cold and gusty

Bait:rag,lug,mack,squid

Rigs:2+3hook flappers

Results:me 3 codling ,2 dabs rainey 3codling+1 PLAICE 24CM!!!!!




Report: arrived at dalriada and the water really looked good and not to choppy and decided to fish the wee flat pier but first cast the wind was sendin the rod tips crazy so moved on round for shelter!! first cast i noticed some intrest and resulting in a double shot a codling blank saved phew lol!! rainey then in to a nice codling and i into a wee dab! rainey then had a double shot of codling and a nice wee plaice that we diddnt expect! i then ad another wee dab when rainey ad his other codling and i lifted another wee codling before things got a bit too choppy so headed for chippy in carnlough before goin home for the beer lol!! rainey got a cracker hit and when he struck it took him straight ino weeds and lost his rig!! was good ta get out and some nice wee fish all released safely over and out lol :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

well done on codling lads, good to see that they're back, what do ya reckon
lost your rig in in weeds, biggest i've heard of up that way would be a doggie
but supose it could be a wee strap conger??????was going to try a new mark in
co. down but if there is a few of you's heading north at the weekend i might
meet up with you
some times catching crabs is a good thing.........or is it...........?

nice wee mix berty. thats a mark we've never tried before. do you reckon the one that got away might have been a pollack :?: :?: once they get the head down into the kelp it's almost certinly game over for the angler :evil: :evil: :evil:

cheers al i think it was a decent coalie as i had 1 just under 3lb last month in simmilar conditions at the same mark it took it very quickly and sharply giving the rod a good pull there is some big fish there for sure :!: :!: i was gettin wee tiddler bites there the other week and i couldnt be bothered striking as i knew it was small then whompppppphhhhhhhh my rod near took off i struck and connected with somethin big and powerfull then after 10 secs i landed on my backside when i reeled in my snood and all was gone!!!! :shock: :shock: :shock:

wouldnt rule it out minty mate but bites were very quick and sharp prob will be headin up next weekend mate il give ya buzz when something arranged mate!!ya get over the flu yet :?: :?: :?:
