recently seen bass follow stain steel swivel tyed above plug think they would have taken small 1inch fly

yup,

had them follow the white braid loop between my fly line and leader before too.

in skinny or clear water bass quite often take small flies - i had a couple last year on blue and white streamers of about 1.5". i was imitating pin sandeels. it worked.

a couple of the uk lads have also had great success this spring with pink or pink and white clousers in the same size - on 6 or 8 hooks.

i think they use beadchain eyes. :wink:
