@ road runner: that peir has never let us down, always something to amuse us, but we don't always fish from the peir, this time because of the winds we stayed put in the safety of the peir.

@cortaz: don't know whats usual for this time of year, but we have learned over the year that the pollack come in great numbers just as the sun sets, but they do be small, about an hour after sun down the big boys come in to say hello.

@ anthony2carr: letterkenny and around the mountains was pretty bad, don't know about kingkasslagh as I live in Meath, was only up visiting the ol pair for friday night.

@corbyeire: yea we were surprised at the numbers, just went out to passs the evening but we were pleasently surprised.

@Big Bear: the big fella took mackeral strips on a single no.5 hook on float about 2 foot down., as we had started with sand eel but the little boys were pulling them off all the time.

@fishermannum1: yes it still has a mane for the congers, picture was taken in december, same day as another 4.5pound pollack.

yea you could fly fish from the rocks, the peir has an over head line so it could cause problems.

if your on the pier looking out to sea on the right head up over the headland and there are some nice open rocks perfect for fly fishing, but you really need to watch the tide.

what we have caught to date is mackrel, pollack, conger, crabs (not to many), starfish and whiteing.

the rocks at the back are good as your shealtered, there are better marks if your willing to walk the hills, but can be hazzardous with the tides or if its dark.
