baitpump beaches?

hey lads i'm considering buying a alvey bait pump for getting black lug but thought i would do a bit of research beforehand.Does anyone use them around dublin :?:

if you want to do individual lug i would suggest investing in a decent spade :wink:

or do what i do and make your own lug spade :wink:

then it's not every one that can dig lug with a spade :shock:

some like to rough it with a FORK

im use a fork at the moment john and i have no problem digging blow lug but its black lug im looking to target,i've seen a few clips on utube with the lads using homemade spades and i have to say its an art in itself but the bait pumps look alot quicker to use.One point made was that before buying a baitpump i should sus out wether the beaches in my area (dublin) would be suitable to use a baitpump...........any info lads would be great :?:

I heard off someone that the sand was to compact in dublin bay for bait pumps and that there only really any use in muddy areas dont know how true this is but.

I would imagine that it would only be the beaches that have a more 'clay' content to provide the suction.
